Zornia diphylla (L.) Pers.

Perennial herb, up to 50 cm tall; stems prostrate to erect, slender branched, glabrous. Leaves 2-foliolate; petioles 10−12 mm long, glabrous; stipules 5−10 mm long, lanceolate, glabrous, epunctate or sparsely punctate; rachis glabrous, ca. 1 mm long. Leaflets ovate, 10−20 by 5−13 mm, apex acute, base oblique, margin ciliate, glabrous, strigose on the midvein beneath. Inflorescences 5−10 cm long, axillary, spikes; bracts 2, broadly lanceolate, 8−10 by 3−5 mm, apex acute, the auricle to 2 mm long, glabrous. Flowers 10−12 mm long. Calyx 3−4 mm long; tube c. 0.5 mm long; lobe 2.5−3 mm long, glabrous. Petals yellow; standard orbicular, 4−6 by 4−5 mm, apex rounded to emarginate; wings oblong or obovate, clawed, 4−4.5 by 2−2.5 mm; keel falcate, apex acuminate, 3.5−5 by 1.5−2 mm. Stamens 7−8 mm long, glabrous. Ovary pubescent. Pods with 4−5 subglobose articles; articles 4−4.5 by 3.5 mm, echinate-setose at tip. Seeds light brown, subglobose, 1−1.2 mm in diameter.
